We continue to advance our understanding of this pandemic as it builds day by day. We know that we will have to live in a different world than before, but nobody knows how we will do it and the truth is that we will have to face the consequences of this event.<\/p>\n
Among many, the concern for the revival of the economy (by the way, understandable) goes hand in hand with the concern for our environment (by the way, urgent).\u00a0The fact that this moment in which the world lives today has allowed us to visualize changes in our environment is still significant; we know of facts that surprise us<\/b>, that we had not lived, or that we had not remembered for a long time and some of us see in this a sign that we want to interpret as a clear sign that the environment \"breathes\" with less difficulty than before. Emptier roads, tourist liners parked on the planet's docks, fewer planes plying the Earth's troposphere and the decrease (or cessation) of intensive industrial activity seems to be returning us to apparently forgotten facts and scenes or simply impossible to imagine; the mountain range of\u00a0Snowy Himalayas visible from Punjab and Jalandhar<\/b>, in northern India, as has not been seen in decades;\u00a0Santiago de Chile<\/b>\u00a0He has observed for weeks an Andean mountain range that is also snow-covered; a great number of animals have appeared in the streets, patios, meadows, beaches and coasts of the big cities; cities with historically high pollution rates with cleaner skies,\u00a0Beijing, New Delhi, Mexico City, Buenos Aires and, in our own reality, Osorno, Temuco, Los Angeles<\/b>. And although all this is only a temporary change, many of us want to think that this only respite that the Earth took marks a milestone that makes us return with more energy and conviction about the essential of looking after our environment.<\/p>\n
The return cannot be at the cost of sacrificing, once again, the natural environment and its resources, therefore, the commitment of the States with the international agreements on the environment agreed and signed, and where the responsibility of the citizenship for this to happen is vital, since it is their legitimate right to live in an environment of sustainability. Perhaps this respite from the planet is only temporary, but it will certainly mark a before and after in the recent history of the Earth.<\/b>.<\/p>\n
