Octubre de 2022, Londres. Miembros del movimiento Just Stop Oil irrumpen en el museo National Gallery y lanzan sopa de tomate a la pintura \u201cLos Girasoles\u201d de Van Gogh. Este mismo grupo tambi\u00e9n ha hecho presencia habitual en carreras de F\u00f3rmula 1 y en partidos de f\u00fatbol. Sin embargo, el bloqueo de calles es su forma de protesta habitual, en donde sus integrantes que visten llamativos chalecos naranjos se sientan en medio de la calzada para impedir el tr\u00e1nsito vehicular por un tiempo indeterminado.<\/span><\/p>

\u00bfQu\u00e9 es Just Stop Oil? Es un movimiento activista que nace alrededor de 2021 en el Reino Unido, con el fin de presionar al gobierno brit\u00e1nico para que cese la producci\u00f3n de petr\u00f3leo y sus derivados. Desde entonces, han ganado presencia en otros pa\u00edses como Francia, Alemania y Pa\u00edses Bajos entre otros, realizando actos de protestas de iguales caracter\u00edsticas. Este grupo recibe financiamiento de donaciones individuales y organizaciones internacionales como el Climate Emergency Fund.<\/span><\/p>

La sociedad brit\u00e1nica est\u00e1 dividida en torno a su actuar. Sus integrantes defienden f\u00e9rreamente la necesidad de tomar medidas dr\u00e1sticas para frenar el cambio clim\u00e1tico, pero sus t\u00e1cticas no han sido bien recibidas porque en el fondo afectan m\u00e1s a las personas comunes antes que a las grandes petroqu\u00edmicas. En efecto, el conocido presentador de televisi\u00f3n brit\u00e1nica Piers Morgan, ha criticado duramente a este movimiento, y ha dicho que sus acciones son contraproducentes, ya que, en vez de generar apoyo a su causa, lo alejan.<\/span><\/p>

Otras cr\u00edticas apuntan a la factibilidad de sus demandas y la elecci\u00f3n de los pa\u00edses en donde operan. No hay consenso si suspender la producci\u00f3n de petr\u00f3leo es factible hoy en d\u00eda, dado que la transici\u00f3n hacia energ\u00edas renovables requiere de desarrollo tecnol\u00f3gico y viabilidad econ\u00f3mica. Por otra parte, la libertad para manifestarse en los pa\u00edses antes mencionados facilita la existencia de esta agrupaci\u00f3n, lo cual no ser\u00eda posible en China, Rusia o la India, que s\u00ed generan m\u00e1s emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero en comparaci\u00f3n al Reino Unido.<\/span><\/p>

La pregunta es, \u00bfCu\u00e1l ser\u00eda el impacto real de este tipo de activismo? Por el momento nada con relaci\u00f3n al uso del petr\u00f3leo, pero si en cuanto a incidentes en los que veh\u00edculos de emergencia se han visto obstaculizados durante las manifestaciones, sin mencionar la molestia y el estr\u00e9s de las personas afectadas que no pueden llegar a tiempo a sus trabajos, aeropuertos, etc. Solo basta mirar su web para darse cuenta de que la mayor\u00eda de sus contenidos est\u00e1n relacionados con reclutamiento, entrenamiento, programaci\u00f3n de actividades y noticias sobre sus voluntarios detenidos.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
