State Examination U of Münster, MA U of Bordeaux, PhD U of Münster, Habilitation U of Hannover is Chair of Medieval and Modern History at the University of Siegen, Germany, and Jean Monnet Chair “ad personam” in European Integration History.

She is Head of the Department of History, Director of two international, interdisciplinary Master Programmes „Roads to Democracies“ (History, Political Science, Sociology) and “International Cultural Historical Studies” (History, Theology, Philosophy, Philology (German, English, French, Spanish, Italian), Music History, Art History) and the Head of three Examination Boards. She is the Erasmus Coordinator of the History Department (36 partners) and Co-Director of the Research Center “Transnational Cultural History” (U of Siegen). She is former Vice Dean for Study Affairs, Finances and International Relations. She was a long-time member of the Academic Senate and of the standing Committee for Teaching and Study and the standing Committee for Internationalisation. She is now Chairwoman of the standing Committee of Internationalisation and Partnership of the University of Siegen. She has received various awards for outstanding achievements in the field of internationalisation. She is Permanent Honorary Visiting Professor at Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, China). Previously she worked during 14 years as Assistant Professor and as Associate Professor at the Leibniz University of Hannover. She was a member of the ECTS pilot group (since 1991), Bologna Expert and Counsellor (EU Commission), worked as external evaluator and expert (EU projects). She has been and is the academic coordinator of various third-party funded research projects (EU projects (e.g. Jean Monnet, Tempus, Twinning, Eastern Partnership, Erasmus), various other international and national funded projects) with university and non-university partners in Europe, the Americas and Asia. She is a member of various international Boards (reviews, laboratories, research centers) in several countries in Europe and Asia. She has been a visiting professor in various prestigious universities in Europe, the Americas and Asia. She has received various international research grants and has gained international research and teaching experiences abroad since more than 30 years. Her research interests include European integration history, nation building processes, collective identities, populism, national and supra-national myths in history and politics, international relations, economic, social, cultural and political history, historiography, transnational history, Gender history. She publishes in German, English, Spanish and French.

Responsabilidades del proyecto: Se participará en las conferencias y seminarios del proyecto y contribuirá al e-book con un estudio sobre “La construcción de mitos nacionales y transnacionales en la historia desde la Edad Media y su uso en el discurso político populista actual en Europa y América Latina”.
